Christians Unite

Are you a Christ follower? Do you have a worldview that reflects the teachings of Jesus and the teachings from other biblical authors? Do you believe that the God of the Bible is Creator of man and woman, two genders, clearly stated? Will you stand up for the right to vote your Christian beliefs?

In this video sermon, Gary Hamrick urges Christians to vote. And to vote your biblical beliefs. We should unite as Christ followers who want God’s will to be done so that worldly values do not prevail in our America.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15

Some comments from this video:

“One of the best sermons I have ever heard! Thank you, Pastor Hamrick. I wish my pastor would be as bold and brave as you.”

“I wish more Christ proclaiming pastors were this bold and honest about what the Bible says!!! God bless you, Pastor Gary!!!”

“All I can say is WOW! My prayer for God to continue to use you. O’how I wish everyone would hear this message.”

“Straight to the point sermon that packs a real punch of truth straight through all the noise. With thanks from a listener in Norway.”

Christian Parents…Be aware and Beware of Taylor Swift

People who are talented and creative in the music world seem to easily pour out their hearts in their music. Whether they write their songs from personal experience or observing the world, they have the ability to express their souls with words that match our longings, our heartaches, and our wishful thoughts. Or, sometimes the words are just in the way, and we love only to sway to the music. Either way, musicians have a way of drawing us in to listen to what they have to say.

But as Christians, and especially Christian parents, we may be negligent in our choices when it comes to the lyrics of some popular songs and songwriters. Are they worldly lyrics that are not fruitful for a Christian who wants to please God? Are they outright blasphemous? We need to be aware of what we’re listening to and take heed of how these songwriters and their lyrics affect the hearts and minds of our children.

Taylor Swift. A portrait of an alluring songstress who may be the wolf in sheep’s clothing to your child.

So, take heed.

The Bible–Trustworthy or…

Robert Watson presents “Can We Trust the Bible?” and delivers a moving and informational sermon on the many reasons we can know the Bible is worthy of our trust.

If any of you like facts, you will be pleased to know Robert gives the listener some solid numbers and examples to prove his point. He tells us that one of the reasons to trust the Bible is the number of manuscripts we’ve found of the Bible as compared to the number of other ancient manuscripts found from archaeological sources.

According to Robert’s numbers:

–Plato’s, “The Republic” only has seven copies, with 1,300 years between the original and the oldest copy.

–Caesar’s “Gallic Wars” has ten copies and 1,000 years between the original and the oldest copy.

–Homer’s “Iliad” has some better numbers at 400 years between original and the oldest copy with 643 copies found.

Now, astonishingly—the New Testament of the Bible has 28,000 manuscripts found with only 25 years between the original and the oldest copy. Yet, the secular world will believe the truth of these other ancient works and question the reliability of our Bible.

Click on the video to hear Robert give other reasons to believe why we can completely trust the Bible and that God has preserved it generation after generation.

Tangible Evidence for Our Christian Faith: A List of 10 Biblical-Archaeological Discoveries

While archaeology alone cannot prove without a doubt that Christianity is true and real, it adds a huge layer of evidence that points out that our faith is not without justification. Dr. Jeremiah Johnston visits Pastor Allen Parr on his YouTube channel, “The Beat” and they discuss some very interesting artifacts or discoveries that help confirm the veracity of Christianity and the Bible. Dr Johnston says, “Christianity is verifiable, it’s testable, and you can see the great evidence.” He adds, “Christianity is faith in evidence not a celebration of lack of evidence to believe.”

Allen concurs that there is “tangible, credible evidence why we believe what we believe.”

In this fun and easy-to-understand presentation, Dr. Johnston lays out his list of 10 biblical archaeological discoveries that he deems very important to help us fasten our Christian belief to something other than our personal “feelings” about Christianity.

Keep watching to the end…you may be surprised at the tenth entry on this list!

New Age or Christianity?

Pastors Chad Moore and Robert Watson from Sun Valley Community Church in Arizona discuss New Age beliefs in this podcast linked below. They endeavor to help Christians discern the pitfalls of the New Age movement by covering what true Christianity is and how it differs from New Age.

Pastor Chad mentions that when he interacts with some Christians, he notices that they take New Age ideas and ‘throw a little Jesus on top.’ He said, “New Age is very common, it’s everywhere, and it’s a big deal in our society.” (1:20 minutes)

A couple of other quotes from Pastor Chad:

“New Age is– ‘I’m gonna get the universe to do what I want it to do.’ New Age at its core is a desire to be God.” (1:58 minutes)

“Biblical Christianity is–‘my life is not my own, it belongs to Jesus.’ And there is a beautiful, freeing, soul-satisfying thing that happens with that.” (24:12)
