Living and Dying for the Name

Have you thought about the cost of following Jesus? Do you think it is going to be all happy, clappy from the moment you accept Him into your life? Is He going to give you your best life now?

On the YouTube channel, Straight Truth Podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell talks about the ultimate cost of bearing the name Christian or Christ Follower. We just need to look what is happening most recently in Nigeria as many Christians are being persecuted and slain for their faith.

Listen to Dr. Caldwell share the biblical good news for those of who are persevering in their faith as they continue to glorify God even in persecution.

Defining Sovereignty

In this five-minute video, Costi Hinn defines and describes God’s sovereignty using biblical reasoning. Costi says, “Nothing is outside His control, and nothing is beyond His purpose.” One of the passages Costi uses as proof text is Isaiah 46:8-10. Watch for it as he gives a clear and concise presentation on God’s sovereignty.

Meet A Pastor Who Values Scripture

In this podcast, Allie Beth Stuckey talks with Jonny Ardavanis about his recent sermon that went viral. He had some interesting and honest comments regarding the Democratic party. As they converse on a number of other topics, Jonny proves by his answers that he values God’s Word and handles the Scriptures with ease.

They also chat about his book, Consider the Lilies: Finding Perfect Peace in the Character of God that was just released in Oct of 2024. The book focuses on anxiety and how to address this issue that we all have at times in our life.

This conversation is engaging, and you won’t want to miss a minute of it. Jonny is a pastor at Stonebridge Bible Church in Tennessee. He is articulate, sensitive, biblically sound, and captivating. You will be amazed at the end where he gives his presentation of the gospel. Gosh, he is so articulate!

Christians Unite

Are you a Christ follower? Do you have a worldview that reflects the teachings of Jesus and the teachings from other biblical authors? Do you believe that the God of the Bible is Creator of man and woman, two genders, clearly stated? Will you stand up for the right to vote your Christian beliefs?

In this video sermon, Gary Hamrick urges Christians to vote. And to vote your biblical beliefs. We should unite as Christ followers who want God’s will to be done so that worldly values do not prevail in our America.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15

Some comments from this video:

“One of the best sermons I have ever heard! Thank you, Pastor Hamrick. I wish my pastor would be as bold and brave as you.”

“I wish more Christ proclaiming pastors were this bold and honest about what the Bible says!!! God bless you, Pastor Gary!!!”

“All I can say is WOW! My prayer for God to continue to use you. O’how I wish everyone would hear this message.”

“Straight to the point sermon that packs a real punch of truth straight through all the noise. With thanks from a listener in Norway.”

Christian Parents…Be aware and Beware of Taylor Swift

People who are talented and creative in the music world seem to easily pour out their hearts in their music. Whether they write their songs from personal experience or observing the world, they have the ability to express their souls with words that match our longings, our heartaches, and our wishful thoughts. Or, sometimes the words are just in the way, and we love only to sway to the music. Either way, musicians have a way of drawing us in to listen to what they have to say.

But as Christians, and especially Christian parents, we may be negligent in our choices when it comes to the lyrics of some popular songs and songwriters. Are they worldly lyrics that are not fruitful for a Christian who wants to please God? Are they outright blasphemous? We need to be aware of what we’re listening to and take heed of how these songwriters and their lyrics affect the hearts and minds of our children.

Taylor Swift. A portrait of an alluring songstress who may be the wolf in sheep’s clothing to your child.

So, take heed.

He Gets Us Campaign

Some like it. Some hate it. What do you think?

The majority of Christian YouTubers have some negative thoughts on this “He Gets Us” campaign. Especially after this last ad on the Super Bowl.

If you didn’t see it, it involved assorted people having their feet washed by other assorted types of people.

I’ve included here three YouTube videos by Christian YouTubers who have something to say about “He Gets Us”:

In the first video, the YouTuber is adamantly against the perception the ad leaves unbelievers with.

In the second video, an adviser to the campaign answers questions.

The third video wraps up the controversy succinctly and gives the listeners something to think about whether you like the ad or don’t.

The Issue of Life

“They sacrificed their sons and daughters to false gods. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan…” Ps 106:37-38

To be a good ambassador for Jesus on the issue of life, Scott Klusendorf says, “You just need to be clear on three questions.”

What does the Bible say about the shedding of innocent blood?

What is the fix for shedding innocent blood?

What is our responsibility?

Listen to this presentation by Scott Klusendorf and find the answers to these questions, along with a reasoned and intelligent explanation of why the unborn have as much value as any other human being.   Scott Klusendorf at Grace Church in MN –

The Bible–Trustworthy or…

Robert Watson presents “Can We Trust the Bible?” and delivers a moving and informational sermon on the many reasons we can know the Bible is worthy of our trust.

If any of you like facts, you will be pleased to know Robert gives the listener some solid numbers and examples to prove his point. He tells us that one of the reasons to trust the Bible is the number of manuscripts we’ve found of the Bible as compared to the number of other ancient manuscripts found from archaeological sources.

According to Robert’s numbers:

–Plato’s, “The Republic” only has seven copies, with 1,300 years between the original and the oldest copy.

–Caesar’s “Gallic Wars” has ten copies and 1,000 years between the original and the oldest copy.

–Homer’s “Iliad” has some better numbers at 400 years between original and the oldest copy with 643 copies found.

Now, astonishingly—the New Testament of the Bible has 28,000 manuscripts found with only 25 years between the original and the oldest copy. Yet, the secular world will believe the truth of these other ancient works and question the reliability of our Bible.

Click on the video to hear Robert give other reasons to believe why we can completely trust the Bible and that God has preserved it generation after generation.

Decretive Will of God

The topic of God’s will is so interesting and many theologians have written and spoken about it. But sometimes it takes a certain someone to make it plain for us. Costi Hinn, on his YouTube channel, For the Gospel, does a wonderful job of explaining decretive will with examples and Scripture.

According to Costi, decretive will (or sovereign will) involves events that are ordained and destined. “Decreed will is that which He (God) has decreed will happen. What He has decreed, He will do. Nobody can stop it.”

What types of things can we consider God’s decretive will? Check out Costi’s video and see. (Hint: God has ordained the day of our birth and death!)

Serving Coffee

I’m always surprised when I see the endless lines at drive-thru coffee places. The number of coffee companies is as endless as their lines: Dutch Bros, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Black Rock, and so many others. Apparently, Americans love their coffee treats and are willing to pay the price.

I’m sure coffee lovers are whetting their coffee cravings at home too by brewing up their own concoctions. If you are one of those, you may also like to buy and grind specialty beans to get the perfect flavor you prefer. May I suggest to you a company called, “Seven Weeks Coffee” where you can buy coffee beans and ground coffee. This pro-life company’s unusual name came from the idea that the baby at seven weeks gestation is the size of a coffee bean. How cute!

Their website says: “Our mission is to promote Godly values, provide excellent coffee, and protect every beating heart.”

When you buy from them, they give ten percent to pregnancy care centers. They say, “Because of your support, we have raised more than $175,000 in just over a year for centers nationwide. Together, we are supporting the immediate needs of pregnancy care centers.”

Sounds like a great combination: getting your daily coffee needs met and meeting the needs of pregnant women and their families at pro-life pregnancy centers!
