We may not have a doubt that God exists , but can you give evidence to someone who asks you why you think there is a God? Many unbelievers will not give you the time of day if you say, “Because the Bible told me so.” So, can you present any facts that will help the skeptic give you a hearing? I think the sources below will give you some solid talking points and reliable evidences that our God truly does exit.

William Lane Craig | Apologetics | Reasonable Faith    Source: In an article from William Lane Craig, he gives five reasons to think that God exists:

  1. God makes sense of the origin of the universe.
  2. God makes sense of the fine-tuning of the universe for intelligent life.
  3. God makes sense of objective moral values in the world.
  4. God makes sense of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
  5. God can be immediately known and experienced.

He also states three reasons why God’s existence makes a difference:

  1. Life is ultimately meaningless without God.
  2. Without God we live without hope.
  3. If God, exists, you can know His love personally.

Does God Exist?

This question will be a no-brainer for those whom we call Christians. But we Christians sometimes need to be reminded and have our faith reinforced. We do that by reading God’s own words. Doubts can creep into our lives, and so let’s strengthen our understanding and belief. We can also solidify in our own minds these truths so that we may help unbelievers find the God that we worship.

Let’s look at a couple of Scripture verses, our main go-to evidence, that we can use to support our contention that God does exist:

Isaiah 40:26 —Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens; Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Psalm 19—The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Just in these two verses, we are prompted to look up and be in awe of the universe…the stars and moon and all that shines in the heavenlies. How did they get there? The incredible vastness of space overwhelms us. These Scriptures say this realm above speaks of God’s existence and presence. Everyone in the world can look up and wonder…how, who, and why. Everyone can understand that there must be an almighty Creator of the universe.
