People who are talented and creative in the music world seem to easily pour out their hearts in their music. Whether they write their songs from personal experience or observing the world, they have the ability to express their souls with words that match our longings, our heartaches, and our wishful thoughts. Or, sometimes the words are just in the way, and we love only to sway to the music. Either way, musicians have a way of drawing us in to listen to what they have to say.

Are they worldly lyrics that are not fruitful for a Christian who wants to please God? Are they outright blasphemous? We need to be aware of what we’re listening to and take heed of how these songwriters and their lyrics affect the hearts and minds of our children.
